My eBay: Promoting eBay Auctions
What do you think is the key to success on eBay? Of course, there are a number of factors that determine whether you are a successful or failure. But the first and the foremost thing that should be on your mind is getting people to your listings. If people don’t know a thing about your listings they won’t be able to come, buy items and make you rich.
So let me give you a couple of tips on boosting your eBay traffic and thus boosting the sales:
Increase traffic numbers:
1. Optimize all of your listings. The overwhelming majority of users (about 90%) search eBay by keywords rather than by category. You have to make sure that your headlines and titles are keyword-rich.
Skip McGrath, of Skip McGrath.com, suggests:
“[Use] all the relevant keywords in the title, then if [you] have some space, use words like new, unique, one of a kind, rare, that sort of thing. The word should apply to what you’re selling.”
2. Consider Cross-Promotion. The more you use auctions the better for your store. A great majority of eBay users never click on the link that redirects them from the auction to your store, so you’d better put that link in the description of the item.
McGrath continues:
“One of the big advantages of moving buyers from your auction to your store is that store listing fees and final value fees are a lot less than at auctions.”
Customer trust is the king
- Create a pro-Image. Your presentation is crucial while you are a newbie at eBay. Establishing your name is time-consuming, but you need to do that in order to make your clients feel comfortable spending their money with you. If you feedback reaches 30 or higher customers, other clients might see you as a trusted source of their purchases. And it is your final goal, isn’t it?
- Brand your eBiz. You need to make up an image for your store. There must be some particular individuality in everything you are doing – the same with eBiz – the brand is the notion the clients associate your store with. It consists of a number of aspects: writing style, the layouts, the color schemes etc.
