OK, as the title says get a cheap, I would say, the cheapest copywriter you can find. Not the best, not a good copywriter, but the cheapest one – a college student, an overseas freelancer, other kind of ideas go here.

I have got this idea about a year back. Recently I have read a story of a webmaster who has increased his AdSense earnings from $10.00 to $800.00 per week – and that reminded me of that idea. It is not new and to tell the truth a boring (but efficient) technique. I have practiced it for some time, but it was not much fun and I dropped it. Now I think that it is worth hiring someone to do this job as it does not attract me, but the technique works.

1. Conduct a proper keyword analysis – that is the core of the technique. You can certainly use this or this keyword research tools to start with. 2. Hire a local college student or an overseas freelancer. The price – all that matters. You need the cheapest human (not automatic) content generator.

3. Supply him with the list of keywords you have got as a result of your deep keyword research.

4. Instruct that person: you need to write articles focused around each of the keyword phrase. The articles should be 100% unique (copyscape tool will control you), 300-400 words. You should mention the article title in the text, use references to your other articles with proper anchor text, etc…

5. Design a landing page properly optimized (yes, it is a PPC term applicable for this organic optimization technique). The layout to the left is quite good:

6. Publish those articles after making the required changes (on-page optimization) and interlinking them into the website structure.

7. Wait for a few months for any effect (= traffic increase).

Summary: I should mention that this technique is not applicable to all websites (unfortunately). It works fine with good and established websites that are online for a couple of years.

Will it (‘artificial content’) damage the image of your website? I do not think so. You can keep running the website the way you do it now adding valuable content, services and tools.

The internet primarily fulfills an informational function. I guess the expression ‘Content is king‘ originates from that fact (‘uniqueness‘ is also a boring cliche of high quality content). Everyone is bored with this saying, but a discussion of what really constitutes high quality content shows that ideas and opinions on this issue are different.

To tell the truth, I do not remember when I used Google or any other search engine for the last time – probably just to check ranking positions of my websites. Why do I prefer it to Google and other search engines? Because it returns much better results. For instance, if I browse by keywords I also pay attention to how many people bookmarked this page. If it shows a high number of people I am sure that it is a good and reliable source. And I am sure that it is not an artificial bookmarks – digg.com (just another popular social website) is regularly criticized for its not quite objective way to feature website users’ content and news).

Summary: Well, I do not think that 100% persons share my excitement about this service, but most do, otherwise Yahoo! would not bother buying this service on December 2005.

1. To develop your own? Yes, but you are not likely to produce as much as you would like or as your competitors who use other methods.

2. You can steal content from others – not quite ethical, but widely practiced.

3. You can target your visitors and try to get user generated content – this is a great way to run a website. More on forums here.

4. You can use content from other websites that allow you to do it. It is not so valuable as your own mind product – readers are more interested to read it from the original source; search engine will neglect it as duplicate. But it is a nice addition to other website content you have – your own or forums.
