Why do search engines act like that? I have their own list of factors how to rank sites and age is one of the key indicators that a website is legal and has quality products/ services/ content. But age must be supported by references from other sites/ links and other trust indicators…

Do not you find that it is a nice profit – $1 000 for 12 hours of work per month? Though he does not mention his costs – probably it is much lower than $1 000. He is likely to pay Yahoo! monthly fee as his project hosted with their platform – I am not sure how much it is nowadays.
