    Internet marketing: link builder
       May 12th, 2006

One of the ways to earn money from home is to join the world of Internet marketing. You do not need your own site, you can earn with helping others to promote their sites (and then start your own). One of the crucial points to achieve success with your website is to build links pointing to your website: both quantity and quality matter. As a result, a new profession has evolved – Link Builder. And it is a cool way to make your living at this moment in time.

Task is clear: to get other websites place links to the site of your customer. Below are some valuable article links thaht will teach you how to do it efficiently:

Next question is where to search your potential customers – those people who are ready to pay for your work:

    - freelance sites (rentacoder.com reviewed here. A great collection of other freelance sites is here)
    - classifieds (good place to start: www.craigslist.org)

How much to charge? Reciprocals and directory links are not highly priced – 1-2$ per link. But once you are experienced enough to get permanent and valuable one way links you will get 10-30$ per link.

What skills do you need? You should be PC and Internet savvy. Plus some basic knowledge of HTML would be of great help. This basic knowledge is available here for free.

Would like to be updated on the latest link building techniques? I recommend you to read this and this blog and occasionally browse this section of webmaster forum.

    Outsourcing: benefits to the country
       April 23rd, 2006

Outsourcing is sometimes called offshoring or offshore outsourcing. That means that outsourcing is the employment of qualified workers from the countries that are situatedOutsourcing overseas. However, there are cases, when labor force gets drawn to a particular place within the same country.

Outsourcing happens when a company transfers a part of work to another company, which is usually situated abroad. Out-tasking is a similar term that means that involves the transfer of a work segment to another company. Among the areas with a strong tendency to outsourcing are of course IT technologies, data analysis, research process, software development, legal support, animation, etc.

It should be noted that the USA is one of the countries that take advantage of outsourcing. The main reasons for it is that it allows raising the quality of goods and services and lower the prices based on smaller wages paid to specialists from another country (in most cases those are the developing states).

Many are apprehensive about outsourcing taking away job places from the natives. However, the figures disagree. According to http://www.ncpa.org/pub/ba/ba480/, “(in 2003) we exported nearly $54 billion more in services — including legal work, computer programming, telecommunications, banking and engineering — than we imported. Moreover, this surplus was responsible for the addition of 400,000 jobs in 2003.”

So the punch line is outsourcing and giving jobs and the chance to earn money to workers from other countries creates better jobs for the natives. As well, the product availability improves – prices for the outsourced goods drop 10-30%.

Outsourcing betters the standard of living. According to the McKinsey Global Institute, for every $1 outsourced, the economic gain to the United States as a whole is $1.12 to $1.14; whereas the country to which a job is outsourced gains just 33 cents. But 33 cents is also good money, so both parties are happy.

A lot more can be said about the benefits of outsourcing. Read about the outsourcing opportunities for Americans in the next post.

Outsourcing no longer a secret business
       April 2nd, 2006

Let’s define what outsourcing is. According to www.wikipedia.com, outsourcing is transference of a certain part of business to a third party and the execution of it by the third party, which is considered to be an expert in it. Outsourcing came in wide use in business and management in the 1990s when hi-tech companies began to spring up.

The main goal of outsourcing is cost reduction and/or efficient expertise. It is understood that this business should not be mission-critical, as it can be unwise, but the reality often has it otherwise. Among the areas that usually call for outside expertise are Information Technologies, Human Resources, Facilities and Real Estate Management and Accounting.

Also, a whole range of firms and organizations outsource for customer support and call centers, as well as engineering and manufacturing. The main feature of outsourcing is that it is not inherent with the major activities of the company, it is not the core business that the company does.

In view of this tendency a platoon of call centers were established in such companies as China, Eastern Europe, China, Philippines, Pakistan, India, the Caribbean, Israel and Ireland. However, some US companies have gained negative publicity for their outsourcing efforts among the predictions that newly hired staff will have troubles communicating with customers.

So the reason behind outsourcing is cheaper labor force. Industrially developed countries are known to offshore their business in the developing states, where they can get top-notch technological services and ideas on the cheap.

Recently, several IT companies in India has been suggesting that the firms and companies that benefit from IT outsourcing in this countries go transparent about the deal wins and name the producer of services. This, they believe, would contribute to the reputation of Indian specialists, make the companies that feed on outsourcing clear about what they do and provide more visibility for Indian talent on the market. Some have agreed to disclose the names.
