Product Sourcing For eBay: 3 Tools that Work
   March 31st, 2008

eBay selling might be a pleasant, fun and profitable experience. But when you have got reed of every single piece of rubbish in your house where can you go for product ideas and sources?

When you are done researching eBay you might need reliable sources of products. Here, at dropshiparea, we are doing our best to help you find the best wholesale suppliers and help you sign up with them and thus get access to the services they offer.

Plunging deeper into eBay Sources

In fact, eBay is itself a powerful product sourcing tool. For instance, it is a great place with inbuilt traffic which is a real goldmine for those seeking for the products to sell. I uncover a great secret to you: one of the best tools to learn what the traffic wants is the Seller Central Page (www.EBay.com/SellerCentral). Moreover, there are other tools which can be very useful plus not many people are aware of their existence.

  • The merchandising calendar

It is great place to learn what products will be promoted be eBay next few weeks/months. You also learn under which categories you need to list your goods to be given a place on the home page of the service.

  • The hot items section

It can be called a monthly report. You can learn which products are moving, producing more bids, and getting higher final prices. Here you can learn where the demand is at the moment.

Janelle Elms advices:

Print this report and keep it with [you] at all times,” She explains, “People don’t know what to look for… This will really help direct and keep your mind focused to what’s moving on eBay.

  • The hot categories section

This section gives you an idea about the top categories and moreover how to sell products in those categories. Each category features the section “In Demand” that gives you clue not only about the hottest selling products but also about the keywords users search for the items with. You see that eBay tells you what to sell and how to do it!

Listen to your clients

When users come to eBay they already know what they want. You don’t have to offer anything to them. All you need to do is listen carefully to what they’re saying. The tools help you to learn what they are looking for. You simply need to come up with the things they are in search of. Simple, but believe me it works!

SEO Professionals Help You with eBiz
   March 30th, 2008

All the search engines are in a constant state of change in their search algorithms in order to keep the search results as relevant as possible. There were the times when optimization was the major factor which affected the ranking of a web-page. But now it makes up to only 10% of any algorithm. What is then the main thing for search engines? It is LINKING.

If you need reliable wholesale suppliers your should go to our dropship directory, but if you need to learn how to arrange your online activities you should read theis post to the end.

Let’s find out what is linking. Linking is a process of connecting your data to the data on other sites which are relevant to yours in the topic (and of course the reverse process of placing your links on their sites). It is called reciprocal linking. Wikipedia speaks about it:

“A reciprocal link is a mutual link between two objects, commonly between two websites to ensure mutual traffic.”

Google is the leading search engine at the moment and it follows the above described principle in compiling its PageRank. Other search engines tend to follow Google in this aspect.

3 hints on link building:

When you decide which sites you want to link to (and eventually get links from) keep to the following principles:

  • Search engines like relevant links

Bruce Chapman (from Linkateer.com – one of the best search engine positioning firms) says:

One of the things we try to do is make sure every single one of our links is pertinent to that particular type of business.”

If you deal in auto parts, a relevant link is from an auto news web-page, and an irrelevant is from an online dating service.

  • Search engines like sequential results

It means that the more is not necessary the better. If you join one of those link farm which are so numerous nowadays you are likely to lose in the respect of ranking. When one month you get 10.000 links and the next month you get only 3 is quite suspicious, isn’t it? So the conclusion is the following: concentrate on the quality of links, but not on their quantity.

  • One-way links are preferable

I have already spoken about reciprocal linking techniques. Search engines don’t like this kind of links.

Bruce Chapman continues:

When one website wants to link to another website, that’s showing that the second website has got something of value… The one-way link is probably worth 20 times as much as a reciprocal link.”

You need gradual results

Take your time to climb search engine rankings. It is not a fast process. Moreover, the more competitive your niche is the harder and more time consuming the process becomes. Do not try to deceive search engines. You might get some short-time results, but sooner or later the engines will find you and punish you. You might even get banned. So the best way to improve your rankings is to:

  • Provide fresh and updated content
  • Look for relevant links

Increasing Online Entrepreneur Profit: What to Sell on the Internet?
   March 25th, 2008

This issue has already been under discussion more than once, but I would still rather return to it once again. So the big question is what products to sell. Definitely there are two ways you shouldn’t go:

  1. Base your product choice on your own preferences
  2. Rely too much on hot lists

The market might not be ready for your own preferences or the competition on this or that good might be too high to get in. When the good gets into some kind of hot list, the supply is likely to be already higher than the demand.

That’s why market research must be the major factor you should consider when choosing a product to sell. You need to concentrate on a certain product and avoid general research of the market. All you need to learn is the DEMAND and the COMPETITION. Moreover, you should look for a product with a steady and high demand, but the competition must be within reasonable limits. A decent research will tell you what to sell an how to do it.

If you have already chosen some particular good, here are some questions for you to answer. They will help you find out if you have made the right choice:

  1. Is the Demand high? (useful tools: WordTracker.com, Terapeak.com to)
  2. Is the Competition high? If you want to learn the competition do the same as the customers do: type the name of the product in a search engine a find out how many results are there
  3. Can You be competitive? You have to take into consideration the prices of your competitors and some other factors. Compare these factors with yours and learn if you can actually compete with these sellers.

Market your product properly

Market research can help you both find what to sell, but more important HOW to sell it. Find the best keywords people search for and make them your keywords. All you need is a specific kind of traffic targeted exactly at what you are selling.

Look at your competitors, find both successful and unsuccessful ones, compare their strategies and find out what makes a successful retailer different from an unsuccessful one. You have to learn your market and know it like the palm of your hand otherwise you are deemed to a failure.
