More ways to make money online
   November 30th, 2006

Domain name business, PPC arbitrage, MySpace - just a few of recently discussed ways to make some money online I discussed lately. Certainly, there are more ways and I guess someone is likely to prefer the below mentioned techniques to earn online.

An Introduction To Search Engine Spamming

This introductory tutorial will teach you how to generate hundreds of thousands of pages, get them indexed, and get traffic from these pages to your sales page/site/affiliate/whatever. The methods used in this tutorial can be applied to just about anything. If you have a forum that need is in dire need of members, set up a couple dozen shadow domains (you’ll learn about these later) and redirect a few thousand visitors there a day. You get the point. Let’s move on.

Remember: If you can’t code enough to even configure an open-sourced site generator (RSSGM, RSSG, YACG, WIKIG, CSG, DWPG, etc.) you will be pretty much screwed. I’m not gonna hold your dick and tell you how to pee, so take some initiative and learn enough programming to be able to apply this stuff.

Moving on. This tutorial will be divided up into the two (not counting 3. PROFIT ) basic steps of SES (Search Engine Spamming): building and indexing. Read more…

$60,000 in 6 weeks

My business partner and I have set a goal of making $60,000 dollars by the end of December by using the software http://www.simplifiedsec.com and affiliate programs. Follow along as I show how I do it. Here I will post my details and provide information as we progress.

Yesterday will be considered day 1. I purchased 124 domains and setup 82 of them with affiliate products.

Today, Day 2 we’ve had several thousand hits from google and yahoo’s spiders. We’ve also had our first affiliate sales giving us a commission of $30.24 (only $59,xxx left to go lol).

We will spend less than 1,000 to make $ 60,000. $60,000 is our PROFIT goal though so we need to make almost 61,000. Last year I was able to make a steady 20-22,000 a month with ypn, but now we want to triple that and do it with affiliate programs instead of pay per click. Read more…

Summary: I think these methods are so called black hat when you try to manipulate search engines. One of the most authoritative websites in this sector is www.syndk8.com They are certainly easier to implement than to develop regular websites, writing content, think of new features and of the ways to promote your work. But the obvious drawback is that these techniques are not likely to last – search engine progress at a great pace and leave less and less space for manipulating and techniques similar to the above.

Of course, it is tempting to try to go this way to see what it look like and to get easy money, but it takes time, much time. It sounds easy, but once you start implementing it will eat your time in tons.

My personal attitude to these techniques – I adhere to the idea of balance. It is recommended to run ‘legitimate’ websites (from search engines point of view), but sometimes it is boring.

Domain name business
   November 29th, 2006

Good domains are like real estate in the downtown. They generate income automatically, with no interference on your part, and that income can be quite large. Yes, domain name business can be profitable. I am not experienced with domain name business so far, but this aspect is on my ‘to-do’ list. I carefully collect information about possible techniques to benefit from domain names:

- expired domains
- type-in traffic domains
- traffic from expired domains
- etc

A domainers guide recently published at digitalpoint forum is a nice addition to my collection of domain business resources. In fact, the guide is a selection of some basics nicely arranged and presented in one place:

Places to sell domain names [Free]

The following is some of the places such as forums and sites to place your domain and sell freely (according to response rate, IMO):

1. NamePros
2.
DigitalPoint
3.
DNForum
4.
WebHostingTalk
5.
SEDO
6.
Webmaster-Talk
7.
V7 Network
8.
TalkFreelance

And these are the places to buy domain name at a good price and just to have a example to make your own bussines with domain names

Some non-free places to sell domains are:
Afternic, Sitepoint and TDNAM

Where to get free domain appraisal?

Actually the best appraisal place is the respective domain forums because the domainers there can give you direct input about your domain. Please find below some places that you can place your domain for a free appraisal (according to the quality of feedback):

1. NamePros- Appraisal
2.
DigitalPoint- Appraisal
3.
DNForum- Appraisal
4.
WebHostingTalk- Appraisal
5.
LeapFish- Automated (reference only)

Where can I get some information regarding recent domain sales?

1. DNJournal- Domain Sales
2.
Domain sales checker tool
3.
3 characters price guide
4.
TDNAM recent sales

Where can I get suggestion for my domain names?

The following tools have been helping many domainers and webmasters in choosing their desired domains. The following order is not in terms of any merit:

http://www.pcnames.com/
http://www.domainnamesoup.com/
http://www.makewords.com/
http://www.nameboy.com

Where can I get a list of expired domain names?

After a while, some may actually want to tag onto this kind of information so as to grab a better domain at times. Some forums like NP has really good members in providing a constant expiring list:

1.NamePros- Available & Expired Domain Names
2.
DomainBash- 4 letters expiring up to 10 letters.com
3.
Expiring list based on PR, Alexa rank and dictionary words
4.
Findeteer

Where can I find coupon codes to register domains?

1. Reg-Fee
2. Domain Coupon Codes -RSS Feed

Summary: My motto is to try all possible online income techniques. I am sure that not all will work in my case, but variety is a nice thing and it works if you do not want to get bored with your job.

Yes, short and brandable domains are sold years back and now auctioned for thousands, but I see that man people are still successful with this business.

The guide I referred to in this post lists most authoritative sites on domain business and they are good place to learn.

PPC arbitrage with 7search
   November 28th, 2006

PPC arbitrage - I have discussed this method to make money online a few times: you can read about it here and here and more on PPC arbitrage and PPC marketing. I do not think about it from ethical point of view - many ways to make money online and offline are not quite ethical. For me, PPC arbitrage is one more technique to test and see if it works in my case.

In fact, I did not start yet a PPC arbitrage campaign, but have made several steps required to launch one:

- I have defined niches where I will try this technique. There will be two high paying niches and two less expensive.

- I have defined those keyword tools that will help me to generate keyword lists. I know that webmasters advice to use long keyword lists (1,000-5,000), others recommend to run short hand picked keyword lists that get high search volume. I think I need to test both.

- I have signed with a second tier PPC engine – www.7search.com I have made a mistake and signed for their pay-per-placement program, but I needed subscription for pay-per-click program. I should admit I am impressed with their customer service – very fast and efficient. Yes, the interface is not that of AdWords, but you get what you pay for – I want cheap traffic. They e-mailed me asking for a phone to call and confirm my identity, but a day later I have got a message that my account is active and I can start using their services. Nice. And fast. I should remember to use their geo-targeting feature not to get BS traffic.

- I have selected one of my domains where I will create folders for my PPC arbitrage campaigns.

- I have an idea how my landing pages will looko. I did not invent them myself, but borrowed these simple templates (a few different) at www.wickedfire.com forum.

Summary: That’s it. I have made a few tiny steps with my PPC arbitrage test, but these steps take time and efforts.

I will keep you posted once the campaign is running. To tell the truth, I do not expect much – I have read some delighted feedback, but I am also aware of many webmasters who failed to make any profit with PPC arbitrage.
